AIB participated in the 2026 Realizing America’s Promise NIB/NAEPB Conference, where advocates from across the country met with their congressional offices to highlight the impact of the AbilityOne Program and the importance of expanding employment opportunities for people who are blind.
Advocate, David Steinmetz, who was featured in The Washington Times—shared his personal connection to the mission. “We want to be autonomous, make our own decisions, and that’s what this program allowed me to do.”
